Adrenal function formula is used for adrenal fatigue and muscle relaxant, aphrodisiac, analgesic, and adrenal support. Our adrenal function formula contains novel constituents documented with immunomodulating effects.
It is formulated with herbs highly regarded in Brazil as an energy tonic. It is traditionally used to combat adrenal fatigue without caffeine, xanthenes, or other overt stimulants to over-tax the adrenals. Remember, the adrenals are tiny glands that sit on top of your kidneys, so if you are feeling signs of fatigue, then it’s only right to target the kidneys along with the adrenal glands.
These tiny glands are just as essential to our health as the much larger organs all around them.
Adrenal Gland Hyperplasia
If the hormones produced by the adrenal glands fall below or above standard, various disorders will occur, such as; adrenal hyperplasia, Addison’s disease, neuroblastoma, Cushing’s syndrome, and pheochromocytoma. Adrenal hyperplasia is an enlargement of the adrenal gland and affects the outer region, the cortex.
Overproduction of ACTH from the pituitary can cause the mentioned condition, often occurring with pituitary tumors. Elevated ACTH levels lead to excessive stimulation of the adrenals resulting in enlargement (hyperplasia) and excess production of cortisol and androgens.
The suprarenal glands (aka adrenal glands) are primary endocrine glands responsible for producing corticosteroids and catecholamines in response to stress.
Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency
They also have secondary functions, including producing androgens that contribute to the control of normal male development, glucocorticoids that regulate blood sugar levels, and aldosterone that adds to blood plasma regulation osmolarity.
Each suprarenal gland comprises an outer cortex and an inner medulla that are mostly anatomically and functionally distinct. Cortical production of corticosteroids (cortisol), androgens, and aldosterone are primarily controlled by; neuroendocrine hormones from the pituitary gland, while medullary production of epinephrine and norepinephrine is controlled by direct innervation with preganglionic sympathetic fibers from the thoracic spinal cord between T5 and T11.
Unlike other glands, these two glands release their hormones directly into the bloodstream via the superior, middle, and inferior suprarenal arteries rather than glandular ducts.
