Our jujube fruit seeds are harvested from Xingtai, Hebei Province, on the western slopes of the Taihang Mountains, where Chinese herbal tradition has gathered Suan Zao Ren for more than two thousand years. This is not the sweet red jujube fruit eaten as a snack or brewed as tea; this is the wild sour jujube fruit whose seeds are prized in Chinese herbal practice.

The Traditional Use

In classical Chinese herbal texts, the jujube fruit seed (Suan Zao Ren) is the most frequently cited ingredient for supporting sleep quality. It appears in the Suan Zao Ren Tang decoction, a foundational formula still used today in licensed Chinese herbal clinics.
