Mucuna and Brain Quality

Mucuna pruriens is a well-known Ayurvedic herb well documented for its aphrodisiac qualities. Mucuna contains high levels of L-Dopa, which is a precursor to dopamine. For those that are into the bodies chakra’s Mucuna pruriens is a Yang-Gin stimulant with a natural amino acid called “serotonin.”

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter released by neurons in the brain, made from the amino acid tryptophan, which is a component of protein and which humans that are eating a healthy diet consume in significant amounts.

High levels of tryptophan in the blood signal the brain to make serotonin, which has many beneficial consequences on mood and effect, including promoting happiness, relaxation and the ability to get a good night’s sleep.

Mucuna Helps With Parkinsonianism

L-dopa or the Mucuna’s seed can be used. One should start with a daily dose of 250 mg to 1 g of L-dopa, in five divided doses. Improvement may take six months. This treatment controls speech, rigidity, and helps to swallow food. The therapeutic benefits of this disease cannot ascribe to L-dopa alone.

Mucuna Used For Anorexia Nervosa

Patients with anorexia nervosa improved and gained weight by using Mucuna.

Mucuna & Haircare

By stimulating hormones, L-dopa helps in the treatment of hyper seborrheic cases. For individuals with psoriasis, the results were excellent after four months of consuming Mucuna. L-dopa helped in hair growth and development and may turn grey hair black. Hair pigmentation occurred in a white-bearded man after taking L-dopa for eight(8) months.

Mucuna Effect on Sexual Behavior

By acting on the hypothalamus, L-dopa may arouse sexual interest and cause excessive sexual behavior. Sambasiva Rao et al. (1982) put forth the view that L-dopa facilitated sexual behavior by increasing brain catecholamine. There was a noteworthy increase in numbers of spermatozoa, the weight of testes, seminal vesicles, and androgenic activity.

According to Elisabetsky et al. (1992), dopaminergic receptors are involved in male sexual arousal, including the sexual arousal caused by L-dopa. It increased a feeling of vigor, a sense of well-being, and increased interest in oneself, family, and surroundings.

L-dopa stimulated the release of human growth hormones. In some cases, by administering levodopa, a hyper-growth of the penis has also been observed.
